2024 Love My Greece Art Retreat package overview

Dates

2024 retreat 1: September 4 – 11, 2024

2024 retreat 2: September 18 – 25, 2024

I run two retreats annually during the months of August/and or September. If you are interested in retreats for 2025 please contact me to find out dates.

Destination

Aegina, Greece

Duration

8 days

Fly in/out

Athens International Airport

You can choose to fly into Athens on the morning the retreat starts, or arrive a few days earlier to give you time to get over jet lag.

If you choose to arrive a few days early you will need to organise your own accommodation for those extra days and the cost of this is not included in the retreat package. Most people find arriving a few days early helpful.

Travel arrangements to Athens (not included in the package price)

You are welcome to make your own travel arrangements to Athens, or contact me and I can give you some travel options to look into.

Getting to Aegina from Athens

Transport to Aegina is by ferry from Piraeus, the Athens main port

If you choose to arrive on the day of the retreat a taxi will be arranged for you from Athens airport to the port.

If you have chosen to stay a few extra days in Athens prior to the retreat starting, a taxi will be arranged for you from the airport to your accommodation, and from your accommodation to the port on the morning the retreat starts.

Upon your arrival at the port on the day the retreat starts you will be met by me, Sue Mac Dougall your retreat hostess, and I will accompany you to Aegina.

Group size

Between six and 10 people

Experience the intimacy of a small, close-knit group of fellow artists.

Group sizes are deliberately kept between six and ten people to ensure personalised attention and to foster a sense of camaraderie, making your retreat not just an art experience but a transformative journey.

Accommodation

Accommodation for 7 nights at The Beachhouse Appartments, Aegina

You will stay at The Beachhouse Apartments during your retreat, perfectly located on the tranquil northern shores of Aegina. Each apartment is designed to be a haven ideal for relaxation and creativity.

The serene setting features direct access to a quiet beach providing a perfect environment for rejuvenation and artistic inspiration.

The apartments offer a mix of sea-view and garden-view rooms, assigned to enhance your stay and complement the retreat experience.

Aegina town is a short 30 minute drive by car or van.

You will have the choice of a shared room with another guest, or your own room. If you choose to bring a friend/spouse/partner you will have a shared room with that person.

Meals and drinks

Breakfast, and one main meal (including drinks) are included

Full breakfast at the hotel (buffet style) and one main meal (including drinks) a day are included within your package.

Breakfast: Breakfast is between 8am and 10am. If you wish to have your breakfast before 8am you will need to let the hotel know. You can have your breakfast in the garden seating area or the privacy of your room.

Main meal: The main meal is usually a large lunch at a local restaurant, but may be swapped for an evening meal on occasion.

WhatsApp group

A WhatsApp group is set up prior to the retreat starting (I can help you set this up if you need help). It’s here that I keep everyone informed of the times, and everyone in the group can keep in touch.

Your hostess

Sue MacDougall

Your hostess is me, Sue MacDougall. I’m an established artist who has a deep love and connection with Aegina, Greece having previously lived in Greece for over 20 years.

My passion for Aegina shines through in the carefully planned experiences I design for my guests. From savouring authentic Greek cuisine, to exploring hidden gems off the beaten path, participants are enveloped in the island’s cultural tapestry, infusing their artwork with the essence of Greece.
