What food and drink is included in the package?

Your package includes a full breakfast at the hotel and one main meal (including drinks) per day. Typically, the main meal is served as a generous lunch at a local restaurant, although occasionally, it may be an evening meal.

How does free time work?

Most days you’ll have free time after lunch to enjoy a swim, relax by the sea, or explore the charming shops. Don’t miss trying the island’s renowned pistachio ice cream, a delightful treat during your leisure hours.

What is the accommodation included in the package like?

During your retreat, you’ll stay at the charming Rastoni Hotel, just a short 5-minute walk from the town of Aegina. Nestled amidst lush gardens and a brief stroll from the sparkling Saronic Gulf, this serene oasis provides the ideal environment for relaxation and creativity.

The accommodation has been carefully selected to offer tranquillity and rejuvenation after a day of artistic immersion. Rastoni Hotel is rated 3.5 stars.

Do I need to be an experienced artist or bring my own art supplies?

All skill levels are welcome, including beginners. Art supplies, including canvas boards for you to fit in your suitcase as take-home keepsakes, are provided. Feel free to bring your own art supplies if you have specific materials you prefer.

Where is Aegina, and how do I get there?

Aegina is a picturesque Greek island in the Saronic Gulf, just a 40-minute to one-hour ferry ride from Athens. The island is known its pretty beaches, the production of pistachios, and has many historical sites. It has a dry climate, and the landscape includes both fertile plains and rugged, mountainous areas.

Is transport included in the package?

All transport is included with the package including travelling around the island.

Will there be cultural activities or excursions included in the retreat?

Absolutely! Your retreat includes visits to three ancient sites on Aegina: the Aphaia Temple and museum, Kolona Column and museum, and Markello Tower.

Is there free time for participants to explore the island independently?

Yes, you’ll have most afternoons free to explore the island at your leisure.

What should you pack?

Pack as you would for any summer beach holiday, including comfortable summer clothing, suitable footwear for walking, swimwear, sunblock, and a couple of casual evening outfits.

What is shopping like?

Aegina offers a diverse shopping experience, from fashion boutiques to butcher shops, bakeries, pharmacies, hair salons, and nail bars. The island is renowned for its vibrant local pottery and art galleries, making it a haven for art enthusiasts.

You’ll also find a larger supermarket and a wide array of dining options, including restaurants, taverns, cafes, and bars.

Don’t forget to explore the local markets, where you can discover fresh seafood, fruits, and colourful vegetables.

What is the population of Aegina?

Aegina’s population includes approximately 22,000 permanent residents, which swells during the summer months as Athenians visit their summer houses from June to August. Love My Greece Art Retreats are scheduled to avoid the crowds.

Are there any additional costs?
